Michael Caffrey has been a mainstay on Nantucket for 25 years, bringing year-round and seasonal residents healthy, sustainable, and innovative food choices. Chef Michael travels the world studying cutting edge trends and searching for the purest ingredients. When cooking on Nantucket, he is committed to sourcing local seafood and the most vibrant produce to provide the freshest food possible.
Michael studied at Le Cordon Bleu. His career arc includes being the owner of a wildly popular gourmet and catering shop on the Mainline of Philadelphia and then the Misconduct Bar in the historic city center. Before launching Nantucket’s On Island Chefs, Michael was the executive chef for Simply with Style Catering on the island. He has cooked for the island’s premier events, such as the annual Wine Festival and The Nantucket Project, and he is a preferred caterer for Nantucket’s historical venues.
Restaurant owners in major markets around the country have tapped Michael to launch their successful eateries. Still, his heart remains on this special island. From a romantic dinner for two or an elegant wine tasting to a wedding for 300, Chef Michael and his team will make your event perfect.
